The practice

Care from people you'll actually get to know.

New York Urology is built around two board-certified urologists and a steady care team — so the people who diagnose you are the people who treat you, visit after visit, across Manhattan and Queens.

David Shusterman, MD

Urologist · Board-certified · Minimally invasive specialist

Dr. David Shusterman is a board-certified urologist known for treating conditions that once meant the operating room with precise, in-office techniques instead. He leads the practice's prostate artery embolization (PAE) program — one of the busiest in the region, with more than 1,000 procedures performed since 2021 and the highest PAE volume in the Northeast by procedure-volume data.

He's also one of the few urologists working alongside an interventional radiology team, an uncommon pairing that lets the practice offer procedures most offices can't. Beyond the clinic, Dr. Shusterman has written two books for patients — on prostate care and on long-term men's health — distilling years of practice into plain language. Read more about his work at Modern Urologist and the prostate center at 1Prostate.

Joseph Motta, MD

Urologist · Board-certified

Dr. Joseph Motta is a board-certified urologist who cares for the full breadth of urologic health — from kidney stones and urinary tract infections to bladder concerns and men's and women's urology. Patients describe his approach as unhurried and clear: he takes the time to explain what's happening and what the options actually are, without rushing to the most aggressive one.

Together with Dr. Shusterman, he keeps the practice's standard of care consistent across both offices, so patients get the same thoughtful attention whether they're seen in Midtown East or Forest Hills.

Khoa Ngo, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Khoa Ngo, PA-C works alongside Drs. Shusterman and Motta across both offices, supporting patient evaluations, follow-up care, and in-office procedures. For many patients he's a familiar first point of contact — the person who helps connect the dots between visits and keeps care moving smoothly.
