The Scrotal Pain Urgency Map

Sudden severe scrotal pain needs emergency assessment to exclude torsion, even without nausea, swelling, or positional change. Ultrasound must not cause harmful delay. Gradual or chronic pain needs broader assessment for infection, inflammation, varicocele, hydrocele, cyst, hernia, mass, referred or neuropathic pain.
