In-Office Care — Without the Hospital

Most practices split work between clinic and hospital operating room. We don't. Our urology and interventional radiology team diagnoses and treats almost everything in-office — it's rare that any of our patients need a hospital procedure.

Almost everything — in the office, not the hospital

Most urology practices split their work between the clinic and the hospital operating room. New York Urology is built differently. With a combined urology and interventional radiology team under one roof, we diagnose and treat the large majority of what we do right in our office — and it's rare that any of our patients need a hospital procedure at all.

What "in-office" actually changes for you

Answers the same visit

We perform ultrasound imaging, blood, and urine testing in-office, so you're not sent across town and back for results. Many patients arrive with a problem and leave the same day knowing what it is and what the plan is.

Minimally invasive treatment, no operating room

From hydrocele drainage and sclerotherapy to varicocele embolization, prostate procedures, and more, our interventional approach means real treatment without general anesthesia, incisions, or a hospital admission. You recover at home, usually fast.

Surgery as a true last resort

We reserve hospital surgery for the uncommon situations that genuinely require it. For the vast majority of patients, we have a less invasive way to get the same goal — and we'll always tell you honestly when surgery is, or isn't, the right call.

The conditions we handle this way

Our in-office, interventional model runs across much of what we treat — scrotal pain and masses, hydroceles, prostatitis, overactive bladder, enlarged prostate, kidney stones, and more. Where deeper specialty care helps, we draw on our wider network, including our dedicated prostate center and minimally invasive urology practice.

Why it matters

In-office, minimally invasive care generally means less anesthesia risk, lower cost, faster recovery, and less time lost — while still getting you the result. For most men, the hospital simply isn't necessary. That's the standard we hold.

Common questions

Do you do procedures in the office or the hospital?

Almost everything is done in our office. With a combined urology and interventional radiology team, we diagnose and treat the large majority of conditions in-office, and it's rare for our patients to need a hospital procedure.

What can be treated without surgery?

A great deal — hydroceles (drainage and sclerotherapy), varicoceles (embolization), many prostate conditions, scrotal issues, and more. We use minimally invasive, image-guided techniques rather than open surgery wherever it's appropriate.

Why is in-office care better for me?

It generally means no general anesthesia, no incision, lower cost, and faster recovery, while still treating the problem. You're also diagnosed faster because we do imaging and lab testing in-office the same visit.

What if I actually need surgery?

We reserve hospital surgery for the uncommon cases that truly require it, and we'll tell you honestly when that's the case. For most patients, there's a less invasive in-office option that reaches the same goal.

Do you do testing in-office too?

Yes — ultrasound imaging, blood, and urine testing are all done in our office, so you often get answers and a treatment plan the same visit instead of waiting on outside facilities.
